The only WHOmail exchange I ever had with Phil was this:

Re. Noble Article

'LOL !! just posted it up there. All abuse and splats and me being called a mick cunt etc are on you !

:)

Eddie Bs C&P legacy shall never die !!!!!'

In true WHO spirit he got called names, but took it in the way you should on here.

I responded by crowning him the new Eddie B.

Two WHO legends gone.

RIP I'm the great Upton Park in the sky.

RIP Irish Hammer.

Like a lot, i only knew him from his articles and the odd conversation over WHOMail.

Seemed a really genuine, decent bloke.

Will be missed by all.

RIP Irish and condolences to the friends and family

That news has really nicked the jam out me doughnut.

Lots of love to his family you’ll be missed Irish.

Agree, hopefully WHO fund will do its work. I'll bung something in later as well

Cup
Conversely a floral tribute at what will be a difficult time for his family, demonstrating he is not forgotten here could go down well?
In my experience of these situations there is a ballywho at the time then everyone buggers off to their own life leaving the bereaved to get on with it

EDIT

Actually maybe too late for flowers etc

I've not been on here much due to work and life pressures but I wanted to convey my sadness about this news

I conversed with IH about a number of issues by whomail and also WhatsApp and he came across as a thoroughly decent person willing to do anything to help others

An exceptionally sad loss.

Presumably the WHO fund will be used for flowers etc?

Re: Sad News - RIP Irish Hammer
We should have a WHO sticky thread for remembrance of WHOers who've passed on.

This relic of the modern internet is an oasis in the desert of the social media age, and WHOers past and present have made a dent and posters genuinely care.

I'd like us to raise a glass to Irish Hammer and other lost WHOers.
